when you spend your bucks, get your money's worth
is it safe for you, is it friendly to earth?
i've got rights, 'cos i've got the cash
if you pay on credit, don't get rash
you can ask somebody, if in doubt
just take your time, and check it all out.
it's a disposable world, i've heard people say
use it once and throw it away
the paper you use, the burger you tasted
the world's gettin' totalled, the world's gettin' wasted.

is that food i'm buying pesticide free?
low suger, low salt, no m.s.g.?
is the packaging of recyclable construction?
i don't wanna pay for my planet's destruction.

from our first bag of lollies to our graveyard plot
we all spend money for everything we've got
money's hard to come by, it doesn't grow on trees
so when we spend our bucks, we want value please.

and we have rights, we're proteced by the law
we can choose where to buy things, we can choose which store
the product better do what it said it would do
or we'll get consumer affairs onto you.

now a credit card is a very fine thing
i can let myself go, have a real big fling
i can buy all the things that i wanted so
but money on credit is money i owe.

and money i owe has to be paid
with interest on top of the purchase i made
so spend on credit but spend with care
'cos when the good time's gone, the debt is still there.

you've gotta ask questions if you're feeling confused
if you're feeling ripped off, if you;re feeling abused
ask choice into line, there are numbers to phone
there are people to help you, you are not alone.

if you need more facts, there are places to go
why not ask the consumer affairs bureau
that's what consumer rights is all about
if you don't ask questions, you never find out.

don't chase the bargain, before you check the jargon
read every line, before you sign
open your eyes, for words undersize
be a positive thinker, don't go hook line and sinker
take time to choose, then you won't lose
no don't get aggro, take time go slow
don't chuck a mental, be environmental
demand your rights, consumers UNITE!
